Manual pumps, electric pumps, hospital-grade rentals, replacement parts, milk storage bags, nipple shields — all covered. The Affordable Care Act actually requires most insurance to cover one for free, but accessories add up.

Prenatal vitamins

OB-GYN-recommended prenatals are eligible without a prescription. The same goes for postnatal vitamins while breastfeeding. (Regular adult multivitamins generally aren't eligible — prenatals are the exception because they treat a specific medical state.)

Children's Tylenol, Infant Motrin, Pedialyte, kids' cough syrup — all OTC pediatric meds are eligible. The whole pharmacy aisle for kids is reimbursable since the CARES Act 2020.

Lactation consultants & classes

IBCLC consultations, lactation classes, prenatal birthing classes (Lamaze, Bradley method) — all eligible as medical care for the parent. So is doula support in many cases.

Humidifiers (with LMN)

Cool-mist humidifiers and steam vaporizers can be eligible when prescribed for a child's respiratory condition (asthma, recurrent croup, chronic congestion). You'll need a Letter of Medical Necessity from the pediatrician.

Allergy & asthma supplies for kids

Children's Claritin, Zyrtec, EpiPens, asthma spacers, peak flow meters, nebulizer supplies — all eligible. EpiPens specifically are usually covered under the prescription benefit but pay attention to receipts for spacers and accessories.

Pediatric dental visits & orthodontia

Cleanings, X-rays, fillings, sealants, fluoride treatments, braces, expanders, retainers — all dental work for kids is eligible. Even the cosmetic-adjacent orthodontia (Invisalign for crowding) counts.
